The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
Every 3 minutes one person is diagnosed with a blood cancer in the U.S. Every 9 minutes someone dies from a blood cancer in the U.S. Approximately, 60,140 people are expected to be diagnosed with the blood cancer leukemia. Despite progress, more than one-third of blood cancer patients do not survive past five years after their diagnosis. An estimated 1,237,824 people are either living with, or are in remission from leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma in the U.S.
